The history of Manchester City FC can be traced back to the 1960s and 1970s. The club was very successful during that time and was led by Malcolm Allison. In the 1980s, the club had a number of managers and was relegated twice. In 1981, the club reached the FA Cup final but lost to Tottenham Hotspur in the replay. The club went through a period of decline and was twice relegated from the top flight, but they eventually came back. Peter Reid took over and City finished fifth in 1992 and 1991.

Premier League - Football

For many years, Manchester City and Liverpool have had a fierce rivalry. The two clubs were involved in a title race during the 1976-77 season, but City emerged victorious and ended the season with 100 points, beating Liverpool by two points. In the following season, Manchester City defeated Liverpool in the League Cup final on penalties.

In 2008, Abu Dhabi billionaire Sheikh Mansour took control of Manchester City, making it one of the richest clubs in the world. The club was able to sign big-name players for record-breaking fees, spending over PS500 million in five years. The club also renamed their home stadium Etihad Stadium to reflect their new owner's influence.

Manchester City first competed in the Football League in 1899 and won the FA Cup in 1904. The next season, they went straight through from Division One to the First Division, winning the League Cup and FA Cup. They reached the Premier League by ten points ahead of second-placed West Bromwich. The club then went through a period of decline after the 1981 FA Cup Final. However, they returned to the Premier League in the early 2000s, and were acquired by the Abu Dhabi United Group for PS210 million.

Premier League - Arsenal

The Premier League has yet to confirm a date for the upcoming match between Manchester City and Arsenal, but both sides are likely to have commitments in the next few weeks. This game was originally scheduled for Wednesday, October 19, but a number of factors have put the match on hold. First of all, both sides will have to play their Europa League group games before that date. Second, both sides have upcoming fixtures in the Champions League and Europa League. The two clubs may also be playing after the World Cup.

Arsenal would not have won against Manchester City in recent seasons, but the result has a lot to do with the team's flexibility and the tactics used. Arsene Wenger's team was disciplined and defended well, but they also took chances on the counter-attack.
